THANKS!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! Thank you for sharing your stories, they have really lifted my spirits. Please pray for us this weekend. I am not feeling well today, we have birthing class tomorrow and then we go to see Dr. Ashurst on Monday. He is going to go ahead and have them do the ultrasound Monday so we can see how big our little man is and then make plans from there. After reading your stories, I no longer feel so scared to be induced!! Thanks again friends!! Keep looking for posts...he will be here before we know it!

Update from Yesterday's Dr. Appointment...

Well, I went for my weekly visit with Dr. Ashurst and the news was not exactly what I was hoping to hear. I still have not started to dilate, however Evan has continued to move further down. My cervix is still very posterior. Dr. Ashurst is a little concerned that Evan is going to be a "big boy" and that leaving him in until September may throw us in a situation we don't want to find ourselves in. With all of that said, he wants to recheck next Monday, if I still have not dilated, do an ultrasound to see how big Mr. Evan is and then schedule our induction date. He is thinking August 27 -just 2 weeks from today!!!
I am praying vigorously that the dilation process will begin soon and when we go back on Monday I will have made some progress so that we can proceed as naturally as possible. Please join me in this prayer. Anyone else been in this same place who can offer some words of encouragement?

Today with Dr. Ashurst

Hello Everyone! Sorry it has been so long since our last blog, things have been sort of busy with all the preparations for Evan's arrival. We have had several showers already and will have our last one this coming Saturday. I plan to post pictures from all of them (and vacation) next week.

I went to see Dr. Ashurst this morning and things seem to be right on schedule. I had a rough night last night with uncomfortable pains and some Braxton Hicks contractions. He said all that I am experiencing is completely normal and nothing that should concern us. He also told me that in just 9 days I will be what he considers "complete, full term" and so at any time after that he would be ok inducing labor. I told him that I would like to go as close to his due date as possible and his response was "You just let me know when it is too unbearable!!" He did an exam and said that there is no dilation, just thinning, but that Evan has moved down-he could feel his head.

So, with all of that said, we are scheduled to see him again next Tuesday. We are down to those weekly visits! Evan will be here before we know it! I guess I had better get our bags packed!! Please let me know if you would like to be included on the "call list" - make sure I have your number!!

Prayer requests: please pray that Evan will continue to grow and develop as he should for his remaining baking time, that I would remain seizure free and that the labor process will be as stress less for Evan as possible. You can also include that the labor be as quick as possible (once we are at the hospital!!! hehe). Don't forget to remember Pete, his world is about to be turned up-side-down as well. Please pray that it will be a smooth transition for our pup.

~Love to you all~

Here He Is!!!

Here are some pictures of the little man. We saw Dr. Ashurst today and were able to get some great shots of Evan. He cooperated so well! James seems to think he has my nose and lips. We will see when he gets here. I am sure he will change a lot over the next several weeks. We have moved my appointments to once every two weeks, things are going as planned. The next several weekends are filled with fun things to do in preparation of Evan's arrival. Keep watching the webpage, I hope to be able to update often.

Pre-natal Visit with Dr. Trumbull

We had our pre-natal visit with our pediatrician, Dr. Trumbull last Friday. We both really like him and I think that he will help James and me along the way as new parents. It is important to find someone who you can trust with your most precious gift. One decision down....25 million to go!!!!

Update on Evan!

We went back to see Dr. Ashurst on Friday and he said that Evan's heartbeat sounded great. We (ok, I) had a lot of questions to ask this time. I guess since the great date is drawing closer I just want to make sure that we are as prepared as we can be. Dr. Ashurst sees no reason why I should not be able to work up to the delivery-which is only about 11 weeks away!!!!
Evan's room is painted and his daddy has done a beautiful job of putting his bed and bookshelf together. As soon as it is complete, I will post pictures. Pete can already tell that change is about to hit hard. He will go to Evan's door and then just go back and forth between me in the living room and the nursery. He seems a little sad already. Last night he went missing for a little while and when I went to look for him, he was in Evan's room on the floor sleeping. It was so sweet. I hope he will not be too jealous, but a protective "big brother!"
We can not thank each of you enough for the prayers that you have sent on our behalf throughout this pregnancy. They have been felt and are very much appreciated. Please continue to pray that the remainder weeks will remain seizure free and that Evan will continue to grow and develop as he should.
We love each of you!
James & Heather
(Pete, too)

For Those Wondering...

For those of you wondering what we chose for his bedding, below is a picture! His walls are painted the beautiful green you see in the quilt. His furniture was ordered and should be here next week. As soon as the nursery is complete, I will post a picture for you to see.
Enjoy!!!!
