Evan is getting TOO BIG!!

Last night Evan decided to "show off" a little. He was on his mat getting his "tummy time" in and decided he would let us in on a little secret...that he knows how to flip from his tummy to his back!!! He would just laugh each time he did it. He is so big!!

Back to normal!

Thank you so much for your prayers that you sent on behalf of the Talleys. Evan was MUCH better Thursday, Friday and this weekend. James said he was "ridiculously happy" all day Friday. His sleeping is back on track as well.

Can you believe it's already Christmas time??!!

When you talk to Jesus...

Please say a prayer for Evan. The past 2 days, he has not really acted like himself at the sitter's house. Yesterday, she emailed me and said that he had screamed pretty much all day and would not sleep. He did not even want to give out any smiles, which broke my heart...that is what helps me make it through the day- knowing I will see his smiling face at 4. He has been wanting to get up between 3:30 and 4 in the morning and WILL NOT go back to sleep. This is causing James and me to be tired and a little cranky. If he does the screaming fit again today, we will be going to see Dr. Trumbull...I just hate to be one of those "first time Mommys who runs to the doctor" (the one who the nurses laugh at once you leave!!!)- but I don't want him to be sick either. Please pray that we will know what we need to do, that Evan will get some rest and that James and I can relax a little and not be so "on edge." Thanks, dear friends!

Pete as the Big Brother...

Several have asked how Pete has adjusted to being the Big Brother...he is so protective of Evan. If Evan cries and James and I do not move fast enough, Pete lets us hear about it. He checks on him every night before he goes to bed and kisses him each morning. I think he and Evan are going to have a lot of fun together in the years to come. James has tried to get Evan on Pete's back...Pete does not really know what to think about that. I am sure the day is coming when we will look and Evan will be riding Pete's back down the hall!

There are some days where Pete will pout a little, if it has been a fussy day for Evan and he needs more attention; but we do try to balance it all out and spend some one-on-one time with Pete, too. James is really good about that.

Evan's 2 week photo shoot...

Ok, so Evan will be 3 months this Friday and I am just now getting his 2 week photo shoot up...things get busy with a newborn!! Leslie Sisson from Fitzpatrick is the photographer who did my maternity shots and is taking all of Evan's pictures this year. For the 2 week shoot, she came to our house, which was great! Next weekend, we will be taking his 3 month pictures. It is amazing how much they change from day to day.

We think she did a great job!!

Thinking Back...

It is so hard to believe that next week Evan will be 3 months old. I heard people say, "Enjoy every minute, it goes by so fast" but I had no idea. Evan has now decided that he is too big to lay in your arms, he needs to be sitting up so he can see what everyone is doing. He has mastered rolling from his side to his back and is trying so hard to flip from his stomach to his back.

His little face and features have changed so much since day one. His smile is contagious and his cooing makes me laugh. He tries so hard to talk to us. You can see the wheels turning in his head. Each and every day he brings more and more joy to my life.

I am so blessed to call him my son!

Back To Blogging!

Hey guys! I am excited to be re-joining the blogging world! I apologize for it taking me so long to post pictures of our little man! It is so hard to believe that Evan is almost 3 months old. Man, where does the time go? I came back to work Friday. It was hard to leave him, but it has been nice to have routine again.

It is amazing how one little person can change your life so much. Who knew I could love someone as much as I do Evan? He is a great combination of both James and me. I think he has my nose and lips, however there are certain faces that he makes and he looks just like his Daddy! He has a great morning attitude, he DEFINITELY got that from James! I love it that he welcomes me with a huge smile each and every morning. It helps to get the day started.

Here are some pictures of our pride and joy. I don't have time to post all that I want to share, so this will have to do for now. Since I already have some up from the hospital, I will share from most current to birth. I hope to post a little each day until we are all caught up. I am excited to be able to catch up on what has been going on with you all over the past 10 1/2 weeks as well! Hope to hear from you soon!!

Update on Evan

Evan is doing great! At birth, he weighed 8.3 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. We went today for a weight check and he is up to 8.7 pounds. We will see Dr. Trumbull for the first time on Tuesday. Thanks so much for the emails, phone calls and prayers. We are all doing well and managing to get some sleep!! I hope to have some updated pictures up soon.
