We're Off To Centreville...

Evan had his first experience with Chinese Cuisine this past weekend. James gave him one of the crispy things that you put in the soup and he loved it. He will try anything once!!

This was taken during Evan's first road trip in Big Daddy's new truck. He loved it! Nana jokes and says this is "Evan's truck!"
At Logan's Saturday night. He liked the crayons. Remember me saying that Evan will try anything at least once? We already knew he is a fan of lemons, so of course he had some of Nana's lemon, then James decided he needed to try onion, that's right, onion. Guess what? He actually liked it!!!

We had a great time with you guys this weekend. It was fun to spend the night with Big Daddy, Nana and Uncle Heath. We missed being able to see Aunt Pam, Uncle Tim and the girls. We are so glad you went to eat with us Nanny and we are so glad we got to meet Amber. There is never a dull moment with Mr. Mike and Mrs. Betty!! We are counting down the days until we head south!!!! We love you all SO much!!

Happy Birthday and Father's Day Papa!

Mr. Joe's birthday always falls around or on Father's Day. This year, we celebrated both with him on Friday night. We had a great time talking with them and watching Evan play. He painted his Papa a picture for his birthday. He did a really good job. This was a project he and his daddy did together. James stripped him down, put him in the bathtub with watercolors and a canvas and there you go, Evan's first masterpiece!!! Papa loved it!! Happy Birthday and Father's Day!!!!

Evan's Big Boy Carseat!

Evan has been upgraded from his infant carrier to his "new ride!" He is such a big boy!! He seemed to really like it. He snuggles in and takes good naps. This one will take us until Evan is 100 lbs. It will be nice to have when we have to go on long trips (like to the beach in a couple of weeks). It seems really comfy!! It has a really cute circle pattern on it too (which was important to me as well, hehe).

Evan's First Vacation Bible School

Evan attended his first VBS last week at our home church (FBC Wetumpka). Family night was Friday night and it was a lot of fun. Evan had the best time watching the kids sing and dance on the stage. When the music would start he would tap his legs with his hands and "sing." It was so cute. People in the audience were turning to watch him. He is a show-stopper!!!!

2 Doctor Visits in 1 Day!

This past Friday, Evan had 2 appointments in one day. We started the morning with Dr. Trumbull for his 9 month check up. Evan weighed in at 20.8 lbs (40%) and was 28 1/2 inches tall (60%). Dr. Trumbull was very pleased with how Evan is progressing and said that he seems to be a very healthy and happy baby. We will start this week taking formula from his sippy during lunch. Laura Beth has been great and has already been doing this some. He seems to have transitioned just fine. He does not seem to care where it comes from, just as long as he gets it!! HAHA! Since Evan is not crawling on his knees- nor showing ANY interest in doing so- Dr.Trumbull is not sure he will walk by one. We will see!

Our 2nd appointment was with Dr. Elsas- a pediatric opthamologist at Children's in Birmingham. I was a little concerned about his eye that tends to turn in. After Dr.Elsas' assessment, he feels that Evan is just fine. Because he has a wide bridged nose, it causes the illusion that his eye turns it. He says that as he grows it should become less noticeable. Evan was a trooper all day!

After his long day, we decided to let him go to Nana and Big Daddy's house for the weekend. They had been asking for him for so long, but James and I could not bear the thought of him being away from us (78 miles) overnight. We are so glad that we let him go. It was good for Evan, for us and for the grandparents. They had a ball!

Evan showed James and me that he knows how to throw a temper tantrum! That's right...kicking legs, stomping feet, throwing his head back and forth and SCREAMING! This was the first time we had witnessed this, so all we could do was laugh, which seemed to make his even more mad! We thought it was funny! Where do they learn to throw such fits??

Yard Work!

James and I have been doing some work on our front yard. I was so tired of the mulch that would wash away every time it rained. We wanted something different. Here are a few pictures of the progress we have made so far. I will keep you posted as we move along.

My lillies came back from last year. I love the color....so bright and cheery!

James planted this one by the side of the house. It has beautiful blooms!

After the mulch was dug out, we decided to make a walkway with pavers. This is before the pavers were put down. The center is a planter that will hold annuals.

Evan LOVED Wyatt. He really liked for Wyatt to play peek-a-boo with him.
It had been so long since I had visited with Jill. It was so good to see them and to catch up. We will have to plan a play date soon!!!
